Exploring Food and Wellness in Yokohama
Yokohama in Full Color:
Sankeien Garden

Autumn is a wonderful time to enjoy walking outside, feeling the crisp air and admiring the beautiful autumn foliage in Yokohama. We are excited to introduce a tour that perfectly showcases Japan's culture and cuisine during this season!

Sankeien Garden is a famous spot to enjoy the vibrant autumn leaves. The garden’s maples and Japanese maples turn vivid colors from late November to early December. As soon as you step through the main gate, the breathtaking view of the large pond and the three-story pagoda across the water will amaze you. The colorful foliage highlights the historical Japanese architecture, such as the Choshukaku Pavilion, adding to the serene autumn atmosphere.

From Friday, November 22 to Sunday, December 15, you can walk the special seasonal trail, and on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until December 8, the garden will be illuminated for nighttime viewing. Stroll at your own pace and enjoy the magical scenery.

Where to stay:
Hotel New Grand

For an autumn stay, we recommend Hotel New Grand, where the contrast of the yellow ginkgo trees adds beauty to the scenery. Since its opening in 1927, this historic hotel has been a beloved landmark in front of Yamashita Park. The main building, which has walked hand-in-hand with Yokohama as a gateway to foreign cultures, is an elegant structure with history and prestige, representing Japan's classic hotels. The 18-story Tower Wing, opened in 1991, adds modernity suitable for the international city of Yokohama. From rooms facing the front, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Bay Bridge, Osanbashi Pier, Yamashita Park, and Yokohama Harbor. It’s also conveniently located, only about 25 minutes from Haneda Airport by limousine bus.

At "The Café" on the 1st floor of the main building, you can try the hotel’s famous Western dishes such as Seafood Doria, Spaghetti Napolitan, and Pudding a la Mode, which originated at the hotel and spread across Japan.
