The Yokohama Marathon, which follows a scenic course along the city’s world-renowned waterfront, will once again take place this fall.
As one of Japan’s largest marathons, the Yokohama Marathon attracts over 20,000 runners every year. Participants will enjoy breathtaking views of the Minato Mirai area—one of Yokohama’s most iconic districts—and run past major landmarks such as Yokohama Landmark Tower and the historic Red Brick Warehouse, a reminder of the city’s port-opening heritage.
The course also offers a rare opportunity to run along the normally car-only Bayshore Route of the Metropolitan Expressway, offering a full experience of Yokohama’s charm as a port town.
Cheered on by more than 400,000 supporters lining the streets, runners will also enjoy vibrant performances at refreshment stations, including cheerleading, live bands, and traditional Japanese dance.
Applications are open until Wednesday, June 25.

Sankeien Garden
Sankeien Garden is a beloved traditional Japanese garden that embodies the essence of Yokohama’s cultural heritage.
Spanning approximately 175,000 square meters, the garden is home not only to lush greenery and serene ponds, but also to historic Japanese architecture relocated from Kyoto, Kamakura, and other culturally significant cities.
Out of 17 historic buildings, 10 are designated as Important Cultural Properties, and the entire garden itself is a nationally designated scenic spot.
The moment you pass through the main gate, you’re greeted by the stunning view of the central pond and the towering three-story pagoda beyond—a truly breathtaking scene.
Until Sunday, May 11, a special walking trail behind Choshukaku Pavilion is open to the public. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the pagoda set against vibrant spring greenery—a spectacular fusion of architecture and nature.

CUPNOODLES MUSEUM YOKOHAMA
The CUPNOODLES MUSEUM in Yokohama is an interactive museum that celebrates the creative spirit of Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Foods and inventor of the world’s first instant ramen, Chicken Ramen.
