Minato Mirai Dai Bon Odori (Traditional Japanese summer festival)
Held in a spectacular location right by the Port of Yokohama, the Minato Mirai Dai Bon Odori is a beloved summer tradition and a seasonal highlight for locals and visitors alike.
"Bon Odori" is a traditional Japanese dance where participants form a circle and dance to traditional festival music. Though deeply rooted in Japanese culture, Bon Odori has also spread across the globe, particularly within Buddhist communities in North and South America and Hawaii. It's known as an event that anyone can easily join and enjoy, regardless of age or background.
Now in its 16th year, the Minato Mirai Dai Bon Odori continues to bring people together through dance. The festival also features food stalls where you can indulge in a wide variety of delicious Yokohama local specialties and summer treats.
