Mitsuike Park

Mitsuike Park

Surrounded by lush woodland and centered around three scenic ponds, Mitsuike Park is one of Yokohama’s most famous cherry blossom viewing spots.

The park’s greatest highlight is its breathtaking scenery, officially selected as one of the “Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites in Japan.” Approximately 1,000 cherry trees representing about 70 varieties come into bloom one after another. In addition to the widely loved Somei Yoshino, familiar even in the U.S., visitors can also admire rare varieties such as the Yokohama Hizakura, making it possible to enjoy a wide range of cherry blossoms over an extended period.

At peak bloom, their reflections on the water—known as “upside-down cherry blossoms”—create a truly mesmerizing view.

Spanning approximately 30 hectares, the park also features sports facilities, large playground equipment, and landscaped gardens. Whether you prefer an active outing or a quiet stroll, Mitsuike Park offers something for every style of visit.

Why not step away from everyday life and experience a moment of serenity amid the vivid cherry blossoms and tranquil ponds?

Sakura-dori in the Minato Mirai 21
Enjoy a romantic stroll through Yokohama’s iconic bay area!
Running for approximately 500 meters (0.3 miles) through the heart of the Minato Mirai 21 district, Sakura-dori is one of Yokohama’s premier cherry blossom spots, offering stunning spring scenery right in the city center.

This avenue stretches from JR Sakuragicho Station toward Yokohama Landmark Tower and Pacifico Yokohama, and is famous for about 100 Somei Yoshino cherry trees, forming a magnificent arch of blossoms that welcomes visitors. Look up to see pale pink cherry blossoms, glance around at sleek high-rise buildings, and beyond them, admire the deep blue harbor. This perfectly balanced landscape is a beauty found only in Yokohama.

The annual Minato Mirai 21 Sakura Festa is typically held during peak bloom. The event features lively parades, stage performances, and food trucks serving local specialties, filling the entire area with festive energy.

Enjoy the cherry blossom arches against blue skies by day, and the magical illuminated blossoms against the city’s nightscape by evening. Why not stop by this urban oasis—perfect for a casual walk or shopping break—and create unforgettable memories?
